STEVEN FAIRBANKS - BIOGRAPHY

Steven Fairbanks at Garden of the Gods in Colorado

Born Steven Ritchie in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Steven Fairbanks first started playing music at age 8 when he began taking piano lessions. By age 13 he got his first guitar and leaned strongly toward the music and picking style of John Denver back in the early 70's. However, music took a backseat for about 20 years. During this time he moved to Washington state and found his talent in computer programming. In the early 90's he played the key part of developing the software and system that runs the business for Market America Inc of North Carolina (Currently he serves as Vice-President of Research & Development). In 1997, he moved back to Kentucky to be closer to family. Upon learning of John Denver's tragic death in October of that year, he renewed his interest in playing and writing music. In 2000, he opened Cobblestone's Cafe and begin to perform his music on Friday nights and usually had a packed house. In 2001 he collaborated with some other folks in town and wrote "Ode to Vine Grove". Steven wrote the music and performed it on a special edition CD that was distributed locally in Kentucky. The song even gets regular airplay on a few of the local radio stations. By 2002, Steven Fairbanks made the decision to go back to Washington state to be near the Cascade mountains and mild weather of that region. He is currently busy producing a regular CD of music he's written and promoting the Market America business opportunity
